WASHINGTON, D.C., June 26, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Employees at social-media giant Google referred to big name politically conservative personalities like Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro as “Nazis” and suggested a method in which their outreach could be lessened, leaked documents reveal. An undercover video also shows a Google employee admitting that the company is trying to prevent another “Trump situation” from happening again in the 2020 election.
Undercover investigators at Project Veritas claim that internal Google documents show that Google employees labeled conservative personalities Jordan Peterson, Dennis Prager, and Ben Shapiro as “Nazis.” Both Prager and Shapiro are observant Jews. The leaked email was sent among members of Google’s “transparency-and-ethics” group and called for removing the above-named individuals’ content from Google’s “suggestion feature” when users make Internet searches at Google.
Project Veritas reported that the leaked document appears to contradict an employee's claim that Google, in the employee's words, has “no notions of political ideology in its search rankings.”
Shapiro responded to the claim on Twitter and tagged YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, writing: “Hey, Susan Wojcicki, would love to discuss this with you. Do you think your employees should be cavalierly labeling those who militantly hate white supremacy ‘Nazis,’ and then shaping algorithms on the basis of such lies?” The pro-life Shapiro is a frequent critic of the so-called alt-right and some nationalist groups.
In an email obtained by Project Veritas, Google employee Liam Hopkins states: “Today it is often 1 or 2 steps to nazis, if we understand that PragerU, Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro et al are nazis using the dog whistles you mention in step 1. I can receive these recommendations regardless of the content of what I’m looking at, and I have recorded thousands of internet users sharing the same experience.”
The email suggests that the company should heed a suggestion fielded from an employee named Meredith: “I don’t think correctly identifying far-right content is beyond our capabilities. But if it is, why not go with Meredith’s suggestion of disabling the suggestion feature?”
In an interview on Fox Business channel on Wednesday, President Donald Trump complained about the alleged bias against conservatives, saying that the government should sue Facebook and Google (which owns YouTube).
“You know, look, we should be suing Google and Facebook and all that, which perhaps we will, okay,” Trump said. “They’re suing everybody, they make it almost impossible to do business.”
Trump also complained about Twitter. He said, “What they did to me on Twitter is incredible,” and added, “You know I have millions and millions of followers but I will tell you they make it very hard for people to join me at Twitter and then make it very much harder for me to get out the message.” Twitter claimed that some followers of high-profile accounts may have been deleted so as to remove abusive, fake and malicious accounts.
In an undercover video produced by Project Veritas, Google exec Jen Gennai explained Google’s apparent political manipulation of internet search results.
She said of Trump’s presidential election: “We all got screwed over in 2016, again it wasn’t just us, it was, the people got screwed over, the news media got screwed over, like, everybody got screwed over so we’re rapidly been like, happened there and how do we prevent it from happening again.”
Indicating how Google utilize technical means to alter search results, Gennai said, “We’re also training our algorithms, like, if 2016 happened again, would we have, would the outcome be different?”
In the video, Gennai said that she opposes Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s proposal to divide up Google. Gennai said, “I love her but she’s very misguided, like that will not make it better it will make it worse, because all these smaller companies who don’t have the same resources that we do will be charged with preventing the next Trump situation, it’s like a small company cannot do that.”
Project Veritas is fighting back against YouTube after they pulled our Google insider video citing a “privacy complaint.” Our lawyers have sent them a letter – do they have a problem with investigative journalism? – we'll keep you all posted. https://t.co/hzcXaeEeID

While Gennai claimed in an article at Medium that the Project Veritas videos had been selectively edited, she did not deny that she said on video that Google is resistant to appeals from Congress to change its ways.
“We got called in front of Congress multiple times, so we’ve not shown up because we know that they’re just going to attack us…We’re not going to change our mind. There’s no use sitting there being attacked over something we know we’re not going to change. They can pressure us but we’re not changing,” she was caught on video as saying.
An anonymous Google whistleblower told Project Veritas chief James O’Keefe that it is Google’s “social justice” narrative that lies at the base of the company’s manipulation of search results. The anonymous insider said that Google is “playing narrative control” and utilizing the “human component, which is going through with an army of people, and they’re going to redefine reality based on what they think is fair.”
Gennai was caught saying on video: “My definition of fairness and bias specifically talks about historically marginalized communities…Communities who are in power and have traditionally been in power are not who I'm solving fairness for.” Admitting that many people do not share Google’s definition of fairness, Gennai said, “There was, the same people who voted for the current president who do not agree with our definition of fairness.”
The anonymous whistleblower responded to Gennai, saying “'Fairness' is a dog-whistle. It doesn't mean what you think it means, and you have to apply double-think in order to understand what they're really saying. What they're really saying is about fairness is that they have to manipulate search results to give them that political agenda that they want.” He also said that he fears for the future of free speech and his own safety.
