(The Daily Signal) – Republicans are demanding answers from the Food and Drug Administration following a damning report that the vast majority of non-invasive prenatal tests are inaccurate.

In a letter first obtained by The Daily Signal, a group of Republican lawmakers – propelled by Rep. Chip Roy of Texas, Rep. Michelle Fischbach of Minnesota, and Sen. Steve Daines of Montana – are calling on acting Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Janet Woodcock to address the January New York Times report on prenatal testing.

“When I first read the troubling New York Times story on noninvasive prenatal testing, I thought of my godson, who was recommended for abortion following a prenatal screening,” Roy told The Daily Signal. “He was born perfectly healthy, and to this day I am thankful that his parents chose life over fear.”

“Many others folks I know have stories like this,” the congressman continued. “These tests have always raised ethical concerns because they can be used for eugenic purposes, and these recent findings about their efficacy only make the problem worse.”

The Times reported that companies madly rushing to outcompete one another have been promising expectant families that their tests are “reliable” and “highly” accurate and will provide “total confidence” and “peace of mind.”

But these companies fail to publish data on how accurate their testing is, according to the publication, and the tests they provide are usually wrong, meaning that many families have been given diagnosis of abnormalities or irregularities that may have led them to abort their unborn baby.

Tell the Ronald McDonald House in British Columbia (BC) and Yukon to stop discriminating against families who do not wish to get the experimental COVID-19 vaccine!

It seems incredible -- like one of those click-bait headlines you see every day on shady websites.

But this is 100% real, and represents a terrifying new reality that families with sick children are facing without any rational or logical justification.

That's why we're asking you to SIGN and SHARE this crucial petition asking the Ronald McDonald House Charities leadership to STOP discriminating against the unvaccinated family members of sick children who need their support.

The Canadian Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon, which provides housing for the families of sick children who are being treated in nearby hospitals, has sent letters to families ordering them to submit to the experimental COVID shots or to vacate the premises -- regardless of their children's needs.

On the organization's website, the Ronald McDonald House plainly states the following:  "All guests and visitors to the House must show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. These measures in addition to an abundance of sanitizer and kindness will help us ensure the safety of everyone at the House."

But, of course, none of the measures suggested by the Ronald McDonald House, much less the COVID-19 vaccine, have been successful in stopping or even slowing the virus' transmission or reducing infection rates.

And with Pfizer's own CEO admitting just this week that the two COVID shots are not effective at preventing infection, it remains unclear what, exactly, the Ronald McDonald House means by "full vaccination."

Regardless, denying families housing during their child's hospital stay -- which is the primary mission of the Ronald McDonald House -- is not only a misguided discriminatory practice, it's stunningly cruel, and it must not continue going forward.

So please take a minute to SIGN and SHARE this important petition calling on Ronald McDonald House British Columbia and Yukon to stop discriminating against families based on their vaccination status.

These families need to focus on supporting their loved ones through very difficult medical situations and procedures, not get caught up the maddening politics of the COVID vaccine.

Whereas the Ronald McDonald Houses have historically been a refuge for needy families, they have now tragically succumbed to the mass formation psychosis over COVID taking Canada and the world by storm, and have decided to join in the unconscionable mass targeting of the unvaccinated to virtue-signal their way through these unprecedented times.

This is unacceptable -- particularly from an organization like the Ronald McDonald House -- and it must stop.

Thank you!

“We write to you today because it is our understanding that many of these tests have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and we seek further clarification from the agency on this important matter,” the lawmakers wrote in the letter, co-signed by 87 members of the House and eight members of the Senate.

“While breakthroughs in genetic sequencing have provided Americans and their health care providers with new tools, there must be proper oversight of these new technologies to protect vulnerable populations like persons with disabilities, pregnant mothers, and their unborn children,” the Republicans added.

The GOP lawmakers noted that companies marketing and selling noninvasive prenatal tests “continue to see their profits grow and more products enter the market,” adding that more than 40 of these tests are available on the market.

“While these tests can help parents prepare for the arrival of their child, we are concerned that they could be a predatory financial windfall for manufacturers and directly result in the termination of innocent human life,” the lawmakers wrote.

The Republicans asked the Food and Drug Administration to address to what extent the FDA reviews the safety and efficacy of the tests, asking, “If FDA is aware of a safety concern regarding tests currently on the market, what authority, if any, allows FDA to take action on such tests?”

“Is the FDA considering evaluating the accuracy of claims made by the manufacturers of noninvasive prenatal tests?” the lawmakers ask the Food and Drug Administration in the letter, adding, “What data, if any, is the FDA examining or collecting related to noninvasive prenatal tests?”
