PHILADELPHIA, June 15, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – The true life story of late-term abortionist and mass murderer Kermit Gosnell will not only hit the big screen, but it will also soon be coming to a bookstore near you.

The producers of the upcoming box office film “Gosnell” have announced they signed a deal with Regnery Publishing, an historic conservative publishing house, to write an accompanying biography about the infamous abortion provider.

Two years ago, a jury convicted Gosnell of three murders – but eyewitnesses say that represents only a handful of the hundreds or thousands of newsborns whose spines he severed with scissors inside his filth-ridden West Philadelphia “house of horrors.”

That doesn't include “scores” of female victims who told Philadelphia's District Attorney's office that the abortionist harmed them.

Producers Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer say they collected so much material for their film that they wanted to preserve it all in a book.

“It’s the right thing to do,” McElhinney said. “The movie can’t cover all of the detail,” she told the Daily Signal, a publication of the Heritage Foundation.

The producers have signaled that the movie may focus on the unsung heroes of the Gosnell story.

But there are numerous villains, as well.

“Lots and lots and lots of people knew” about Gosnell's methods, according to McElhinney – but the common bonds of the abortion industry kept him raking in millions of dollars.

For instance, an inspector from the National Abortion Federation observed the horrific conditions inside Gosnell's West Philadelphia Women's Medical Society in December 2009. While NAF rejected Gosnell's petition for membership, the group never reported his malpractice to Pennsylvania health authorities.

The Grand Jury report placed the blame squarely on “pro-choice” politicians – namely, former pro-abortion Republican Gov. Tom Ridge. “With the change of administration from” pro-life Democratic Gov. Bob “Casey to Governor Ridge” in 1995, “officials concluded that inspections would be ‘putting a barrier up to women’ seeking abortions,” it said. “Better to leave clinics to do as they pleased, even though, as Gosnell proved, that meant both women and babies would pay.”

“There’s such a web of protection for the abortion industry,” said McElhinney.

She said murderers like Gosnell are not an aberration; they are the logical outcome of “pro-choice” politicians shielding shoddy abortionists from deserved scrutiny.

“It’s beyond rationality to say that you have to take a hands-off approach to protect women’s choice. This is what happens,” she said.
