OTTAWA, June 9, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In an interview with The Hill Times, Government House Leader Don Boudria said that eight bills must receive Royal Assent before the June 20 summer recess. Included in the list of bills seen as the 'legacy agenda' of outgoing Prime Minister Jean Chretien, is Bill C-13, the Human Reproduction Act, which would allow for destructive research on live human embryos, even the creation of embryos specifically for research.

LifeSite readers are warned however, that the Government has at least four times scheduled the raising of Bill C-13 without any action resulting. Political insiders suggest the Government has been tallying votes for and against and waiting for an opportune time to push the bill through, such as on a day when enough opponents are absent.
