TORONTO, ON, Aug 31 (LSN) – A court case is underway today in which the Canadian government may be forced to provide funding for men’s groups. Patrick Ellis is objecting to the gender discrimination evident in the long-standing policy in Ontario (and the rest of the country) of making taxpayer dollars available to many so-called women’s groups without providing funds to “men’s” groups. Ellis is asking the Federal Court of Canada to rule sections of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms unconstitutional due to gender discrimination. A favourable ruling by the courts is expected to result in millions of dollars worth of funding to be channeled into Canadian men’s groups.  For more info contact:  Patrick Ellis (416) 781 4300 Stacey Robb (416) 232 9025
