OTTAWA, Feb 1 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The federal Justice Department has hired a Toronto company to devise a strategy to dissuade opposition to its plans to enforce the homosexual agenda in Canada. Despite Prime Minister Jean Chretien’s denials, it seems the government is planning sweeping changes to nearly 60 federal statutes that restrict the definition of marriage to heterosexual unions.
A report submitted to the Justice Department by Sage Research Associates advises the use of the phrase “committed relationship” over “spouse” so as to minimize negative reaction. The report, covered in today’s National Post, also urges the government to use the word “fairness” in describing the motivation behind the anti-family maneuvers. Reform family critic Eric Lowther commented, “I think a lot of the Canadian public recognizes that spin doctoring goes on to make things less of a problem… We can package it up in a nice wrapper of non-offensive wording, but then the day after somebody has to figure out why we are doing this.”
