SALEM, Oregon, Nov 25 (LSN) – Oregon Health Plan officials held a public hearing Monday on the state’s proposal to cover physician-assisted suicide – taxpayer-funded killing. The Oregon Catholic Conference made strenuous presentations against the implementation of the funding plan to commence on December 1st. Presentations against the planned coverage were also made by the disabled rights group “Not Dead Yet.”  Oregon state will have made an explicit commitment to fund death at the expense of life if this proposal is approved, noted disabled activist, Ric Burger, at the hearing. He said: “The fact that the state of Oregon will not properly fund our personal attendant services, yet will pay for us to die, amounts to nothing less than cultural genocide.”  State officials have not explicitly declared war on disabled Americans, but Mr. Burger pointed out the obvious – that if the government funds only their extermination, “I believe that greedy health maintenance organizations will place pressure on us to end our lives.” Burger is president of the Oregon chapter of the American Disabled for Attendant Programs Today.
