HEAD TRANSPLANTS FOR HUMANS COMING SOON

CLEVELAND, OHIO, Aug 30 (LSN) – Dr Robert White of Case Western Reserve University has revealed the price tag on his proposed human head transplant operation. The head transplant for a human would cost $1.9 million (Canadian). LifeSite reported in April of 1998 that Dr. White was successful in his head transplant with monkeys who, six hours after the operation, “not only would follow us with their eyes around the laboratory, but they could hear, they could taste – they could feel about the face.”

A blood-cooling system allows time for the scientists to switch the blood carrying vessels to the brain without causing death. The procedure is limited since the scientists have not discovered how to reconnect the spinal cord and thus the “new” body would be paralyzed. The procedure would be of interest however to paralyzed individuals who are in danger of death due to multiple organ failure. The Sunday Times claims paralyzed actor Christopher Reeve has expressed interest in the operation.
