June 12, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) – This past March, Dawn Eden, New York City journalist and author of “Thrill of the Chaste”, wrote to tell us what LifeSiteNews has meant to her. She confirmed that we were being successful in meeting some of our core news reporting objectives. Dawn wrote:
“Back in 2003, as a blogger and recent convert to the pro-life cause, LifeSiteNews got me started blogging on culture-of-life issues. (https://dawneden.blogspot.com/) It enabled me to quickly gain an understanding of what was going on in the movement on a global level. Today, I continue to look to LifeSiteNews for its international coverage, and am particularly impressed with the depth of knowledge its editors bring to life issues, putting them in historical and cultural context to show the motivations of the people and organizations involved.”
It was really encouraging to receive that communication from Dawn. There have been many times when we wondered if our readers understood the big picture that we were attempting to reveal in our reports. Now we know from Dawn and from others that many of you are indeed getting it.
On the subject of euthanasia, Bobby Schindler, brother of Terri Shiavo, (https://www.terrisfight.org/) has been a regular LifeSiteNews reader. This past February he wrote,
“You guys have been wonderful, and I think of this issue in particular (euthanasia) you’ve been remarkable. I go to your site quite often and really am grateful for your reporting so people will understand the issue. There is a tremendous amount of confusion, and you guys have been doing a great job on reporting on what’s occurring not only in Canada but also in the United States.“
Accuracy is something we place a strong emphasis on. It’s impossible to be accurate all the time, but whenever we are advised of a problem in a report we immediately and gladly correct it after the new information has been confirmed.
Dr. Mark Mostert appreciates our emphasis on accuracy:
“LifeSiteNews provides I think one of the best and most balanced outlets for life issues that many of us believe in and work for. I was especially pleased with the LifeSite report of the launch of the Institute of the Study of Disability and Bioethics. Contrary to many of the news reports it was fair, it was well written and it was very accurate.”

As mentioned before, we are often far ahead in warning about the implications of major new developments. When our trouble radar alerts us to a new one, even though most ridicule the idea (usually the case), we investigate the development, report on it repeatedly and wait for everyone else to eventually catch on and finally start to do something. Dr. Christine Mugridge, Rome correspondent for Relevant Radio (https://www.relevantradio.com/NETCOMMUNITY/Page.aspx?pid=534&srcid=-2) relies on LifeSiteNews for its ability to look ahead.
“LifeSiteNews has been personally for me as a professional journalist an incredible source of truth and authentic teaching from a Catholic perspective but also from a global perspective. And authentic teaching on the dignity of human life. … So when we have an opportunity to send people to LifeSite or when I myself need to find out at a real quick glance what’s going on in the world on the issue of life, LifeSiteNews provides for me a very clear, concise update on exactly the significant issues that are most pertinent to the impact of how we’re going to be living in the very near future, and living out our freedom with regards to life issues today.”
Jennifer Giroux, works closely with the fearless pro-life Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline. She often utilizes LifeSiteNews reports:
“Thank you, LifeSiteNews for the wonderful information that you provide. We began the Planned Parenthood Watch as part of our website to raise awareness of the 107 criminal charges that have been filed in Kansas by District Attorney Phill Kline against Planned Parenthood. Many of your articles have provided wonderful information for this and we are posting them (and giving you credit, of course!). Our women’s groups was one of the three that organized the grand jury in Johnson County to now further investigate Planned Parenthood.“

Brad Mattes is the Executive Director of the Life Issues Institute and hosts a regular syndicated television program on life issues, Facing Life Head-On, that airs weekly in over 100 million homes in the United States and now in Canada (see https://www.facinglife.tv/). Brad writes:
“LifeSiteNews has been and continues to be an invaluable source of crucial information on the life issues of abortion, euthanasia, stem cells and the like. Their daily email is a regular part of my day as Life Issues Institute works to protect innocent human life from womb to tomb. I consider LifeSiteNews a valuable partner in our life-saving efforts.“
Deacon Keith Fournier was an influential person in the Christian Coalition that was crucial to the election of Ronald Reagan to the American presidency. Keith is currently Editor in Chief of Catholic Online (https://www.catholic.org/) . He is very enthusiastic about LifeSiteNews and recently wrote, “I have found LifeSiteNews to be among the best sources of pro-life news available for many, many years.”
And lastly, but far from finally, Marie Jutras of Toronto, responded to our appeal articles with a $100 donation and the comment, “You do such wonderful work, I cannot resist your appeal.”
That is our hope for these special articles – that you will not be able to resist our appeal for donations so that we can continue to make a strong impact for good.
