By the way, LifeSite chose this location for a number of special reasons:
1. Florida is among the top three U.S. states for LifeSite readership and by far the largest percentage of LifeSite readers and donors are from the United States.
2. Florida is among the US states with the least Covid restrictions and has a strongly pro-life, pro-family, pro-freedom government overseen by Governor Ron De Santis. The likelihood of new Covid restrictions being imposed before the gala is remote compared to most other US state locations.
3. The gala is taking place during the low tourist season in Florida. We were therefore able to obtain greatly reduced room and services pricing which otherwise would have been far above what we and most of our readers would normally have been able to afford.

As for unvaccinated readers and LifeSite staff from outside the US wanting to attend the gala, we are hoping and praying that the current restrictions on travel into the US from other nations might be lifted during the summer. That is normally when Covid infections are least likely to be an issue. LifeSite shares the frustration of non-American readers who may not be able to travel to the gala. Many of our staff are in the same position.

There are legal challenges that may also facilitate removal of the restrictions. If it does not happen, LifeSite is considering a live-streaming option of the event to those from outside the US.

LifeSite is not going to let Joe Biden or Justin Trudeau’s Covid policies affect this celebration of a wonderful milestone in LifeSite’s history and will do whatever is required to ensure a successful event.

LifeSite looks forward to welcoming you in beautiful Naples, Florida!
