AUSTIN, TX (June 16, 2011) – The pro-life organization Heroic Media, best known for its billboard campaigns advertizing crisis pregnancy centers, has launched “Heroic News,” a one-stop news aggregator, featuring up to the minute coverage on core life issues.

The website, heroicnews.org, compiles stories from premier news sources such as LifeSiteNews to spread critical information on abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, traditional marriage, pornography and human cloning.

Founder Brian Follett said this is a natural extension of Heroic Media. “Heroic Media has always had two goals: to provide women facing unexpected pregnancies with hopeful alternatives through mass media advertising and to create a Culture of Life. With Heroic News, we can directly engage in the culture-building work of shaping the news environment.”

Alejandro Bermudez, a Heroic Media board member and prominent Latino media personality, emphasized the way culture is shaped by the media. “If mass media didn’t impact the way people think and act, why would so many corporations and governments use it?  We are shaping culture.”

English Editor Jennifer Uebbing said she is excited to be part of this newest facet of evangelization. “Heroic News is the long-awaited answer to mainstream media’s one-dimensional coverage of the most pressing issues of our time,” she said. “Heroic speaks into the intellectual and moral void of online news, bringing fresh, relevant and critical content to a world hungry for truth.”

Alejandro Lostaunau, editor of Noticias Heroicas, the Spanish version of Heroic News, said he is humbled to provide this service to many life and family organizations.

“From Spain, where these issues play a key cultural role, to Costa Rica, which has one of the strongest pro-life and pro-family traditions, these issues are paramount to faithful Christians,” he said. “Noticias Heroicas keeps them informed and engaged.”

Social media and world-wide connectedness have made keeping track of news more exciting – and more difficult – than ever before.  In order to keep readers connected to the core cultural issues and breaking stories, Heroic Media says its news site will aim to provide a “one stop shop” for news from around the globe.
