WASHINGTON, October 15, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Senator Hillary Clinton has come out swinging against President Bush for his declaration of October 12-18 as Marriage Protection Week.  Speaking Thursday to homosexual activists at a New York fundraiser for the Empire State Pride Agenda, Clinton called the Bush supported effort to protect marriage as “taking away rights and undermining the ability of Americans to live their own lives.”

Clinton predicted that the issue around marriage would be “center of the presidential election next year”, and left no doubt about her position on the issue.  Alan Van Capelle, the executive director of the homosexual activist group, told a homosexual-activist press service that he “couldn’t have been happier” about Clinton’s remarks.  Bush’s marriage protection week proclamation said “Marriage is a union between a man and a woman,” and noted that “Marriage is a sacred institution, and its protection is essential to the continued strength of our society.”
