WASHINGTON, December 19, 2002 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Hispanic Catholics in the United States are more likely to support Catholic Church teachings on divorce, abortion and homosexuality than are non-Hispanic white Catholics, says a new survey of 4,000 adults by the Pew Hispanic Center and the Kaiser Family Foundation. But subsequent generations are also more rapidly assimilated into the mainstream, the study says.  70% of Hispanics surveyed identified themselves as Catholics. Of these, 79% said abortion is unacceptable, compared to 53% for white Catholics. Homosexual intercourse was judged unacceptable by 71% of Hispanic Catholics and 50% of the non-Hispanic white Catholics. Divorce is unacceptable to 40% of Hispanic Catholics and 23% of non-Hispanic white Catholics.  To read more about the survey see:  https://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/20021218.htm   For related coverage see:  LATINO SWING VOTE IS PRO-LIFE https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2002/oct/02100803.html
