August 21, 2013 (HLI) – Last week, HLI Director of International Coordination Joseph Meaney traveled to Salzburg, Austria where he and Joannes Bucher, HLI Regional Director for Europe, participated in a pro-life march held on August 15 to commemorate the Feast of the Assumption.

The march was held at the Basilica of Maria Plain, a beautiful Marian Shrine just outside of Salzburg.  The 45 minute procession up the hill to the basilica ended at the sanctuary, where they celebrated Mass. As they marched, the pro-lifers carried a beautiful statue of Our Lady of Fatima, which Joseph had the honor of helping to carry.

While Joseph was in Austria, he and Joannes also met with Bishop Andreas Laun, auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Salzburg, Austria, to thank him for his support over the years and invite him to the March for Life in Berlin on September 21. Bishop Laun is a previous recipient of the Cardinal Von Galen Award.
