ARLINGTON, February 3, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Jane Russell, the 1940s and ‘50s Hollywood movie star and pin-up girl, now aged 81, told the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Arlington, Va. this weekend that she is a self-confessed “mean-spirited, narrow-minded, right-wing Christian bigot.”  Speaking on a panel called “Hollywood Needs Adult Supervision,” Russell, who played the brunette in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” with Marilyn Monroe, said she is tired of conservative Christians being labeled as intolerant when they stand up for their beliefs, says a report from CNSNews.  “I have always been a Republican,” she told the assembled activists, “and when I was in Hollywood long ago, most of the people there were Republican. The studio heads were all Republican, my boss, Howard Hughes, was a raving Republican, and we had a motion picture code in those days so they couldn’t do all this naughty stuff. … We had John Wayne, we had Charlton Heston, we had a man named Ronald Reagan, we had [Robert] Mitchum, Jimmy Stewart, Clark Gable,” she added.  For CNSNews coverage see:  https://www.cnsnews.com/ViewCulture.asp?Page=Culturearchive
