SURREY, BC, June 22 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The issue of allowing homosexual propaganda books into kindergarten and grade one classrooms was heard in the BC Appeals court last week. After James Chamberlain, an elementary school teacher requested that he be allowed to use the books to indoctrinate children about “diverse” families, the material was banned by the Surrey school board. An earlier court ruling ordered the Surrey school board to withdraw its ban, but the decision was appealed. The BC Appeals court reserved its decision in the case, and is expected to bring down its ruling in the fall.
LifeSite reported in 1998 that the school board had strong public support in its decision to forbid the books promoted by homosexual activists. A poll revealed that sixty-one percent of the residents believed that the “three proposed books dealing with same-sex couples should not be used in kindergarten and grade 1 classrooms under any circumstances.”
