SEOUL, South Korea, June 10, 2002 (LSN.ca) – A human rights group has alleged, after numerous interviews with escapees from North Korean prisons that forced abortion and infanticide are common practices inside the prisons.  The communist rulers in North Korea have denied the charges even claiming to honor children while at the United Nations.

While experts in the field have said the government is brutal in its treatment of prisoners, a UNICEF spokesman in the communist regime said there were no reports of such incidents inside the country.
