OTTAWA, June 9 (Lifesitenews.com) – Last night, a motion in the House of Commons to affirm “that marriage is and should remain the union of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others”  passed 216-55. The move was a brilliant preemptive strike at the anti-family agenda working through the courts.

Even though some homosexual activists are still denying that a re-definition of marriage is their ultimate goal, pro-family MPs recognized that court rulings in Canada are quickly headed in that direction. Calgary Reform MP Eric Lowther seized the day and submitted the motion as Reform’s critic for children and families. Pro-family MPs in the Liberal Party and other parties joined Reformers in supporting the measure.
