February 20, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — Watching porn destroys society. And parents are to blame.

That’s the blunt message of this straightforward, no holds barred episode of The Van Maren Show.

Speaking with host Jonathon Van Maren, veteran anti-porn activist Matt Fradd exposes the real damage porn consumption has not just on the men and especially young boys who watch it but on romantic relationships, marriages, and families too.

“Most of us are willingly blind to the fact that our children are being exposed to awful things on Netflix, on the iPhone, and on the tablet that we’ve given them,” Fradd says. “And I think that’s just bloody outrageous. And I think we’ll be held accountable to Almighty God for the sins of giving our children these things.”

Fradd, a native of Australia, has been exposing the toxic effects of porn consumption as a full-time public speaker for the last eight years. In this episode of The Van Maren Show, he and Van Maren discuss everything from how he got into anti-porn activism, how audiences respond to his message, and what parents need to do in order to protect their children.

“Most parents I know are frickin' clueless. They’re giving their children portable x-rated movie theaters. And just don’t seem to want to be aware of the fact their kids are looking at porn,” he says.

“I’m encountering lots of young kids like 12-year-olds who are writing to me saying, ‘I want to tell my mom but I’m afraid she’ll lose all respect for me. She has no idea,’” he says, adding that upwards to 70% of the audiences he speaks to are watching porn.

The two also discuss the surprising statistic that women consume porn in large numbers as well. They also agree that the fight against porn is often overly-spiritualized. There needs to be a focus on science too, Fradd and Van Maren argue. Pointing out that porn consumption negatively impacts our brains, ruins a person’s capacity for romantic, long-term relationships, and tears marriages apart is essential in combating it effectively.

Fradd ends the interview by soberly predicting society will eventually be a cultural wasteland with little surviving pockets of Christian living here and there, thanks, in part, to the enormous consumpton of pornography.

Aside from his pubic speaking duties, Fradd is the host of the Love People Use Things podcast and the highly-popular Pints with Aquinas podcast. He is launching in the coming weeks a 21-day porn detox program called STRIVE.

The Van Maren Show is hosted on numerous platforms, including SpotifySoundCloudYouTube, iTunes and Google Play.
