ALEXANDRIA, Virginia (LifeSiteNews) — The eight pro-lifers who have been jailed for their participation in an October 2020 rescue at a late-term abortion facility, and each face over a decade in federal prison, are able to receive mail as they await sentencing.
Letters must be in black or blue ink on standard lined or blank white paper. No cards or photos are allowed. Be sure to include your name and return address on the envelope. It is vital that the inmates’ ID numbers follow their names on the envelopes.
The pro-lifers are listed alphabetically by last name, with the exception of Joan Andrews Bell. Bell is listed last because she has said she wants “her “prison stay to be a time of undistracted prayer, as well a time of penance – for myself and our nation. I want to make my cell as it were a cloistered monastery cell. In a Carmelite monastery the nuns are only allowed two visits a year from family, and depending upon the specific monastery, they are only allowed 2-4 letters a year from family. Therefore, that is what I want to emulate. My family will visit when they are able and will write. So I will have that.”
There are several ways to deposit money in the pro-lifers’ accounts, which they can use inside the jail to purchase basic necessities:
- Online for a fee at www.accesscorrections.com.
- By phone for a fee at 866.345.1884 (se habla español).
- By mail with a money order or cashier’s check only. Make payable to the inmate and mail it to their attention at the Alexandria Adult Detention Center, 2001 Mill Road, Alexandria, VA 22314. Please include your name and address.
- In person by dropping off a money order or cashier’s check at the drop box inside the Visitor Center at the Detention Center at 2001 Mill Road, Alexandria, VA 22314.
The fees noted for depositing money online or by phone are minor.
If sending money to the jailed pro-lifers online, after going to www.accesscorrections.com, click the orange “SEND MONEY” button. Select “Virginia,” then “Alexandria Detention Center, VA.” Then enter either the name of the defendant or his or her ID number (see below). Users will then have to enter their billing information and use the very simple provided form to create a login.
