When the dramatically new LifeSite website was launched on June 15, several important elements were not yet completed. One of those was the LifeSite Search. But now, I can report that it has been finally completed and launched this past Friday. I think you’ll love it. Nice and clean, simple and yet powerful.

Our previous article search utility had been regarded by many as an exceptional information resource because of the huge amount of reliable data in 17 years of LifeSite articles accessible from our database. Reassembling this accessibility via the new website was no small task. Today, not only can the now over 41,000 articles going back to September 1997 once again be searched, but the new search utility is superior to our previous system.

We apologize for the frustration that many leaders and other readers may have experienced since mid-June in trying to search for articles and important information from past articles. It has been difficult for our staff as well. However, total website re-design projects of this complexity, involving such a large amount of varied, historical data usually take months to finally configure. We thank you for your patience.

LifeSite is a far more complex Internet website project than most and, bearing that in mind, we believe the re-design project has gone as well as can be expected. There are still more elements of the re-design yet to be completed and therefore more for our readers to look forward to. You will love those as well. We are constantly thinking of new ways to improve this service for the benefit of all LifeSite readers.

Oh, and by the way, there will still be some fine tuning of the LifeSite Search to make it even better.
