TORONTO, July 13, 1998 (LSN) Human Resources Development Canada, headed by Cabinet Minister Pierre Pettigrew, is apparently bringing immigrants into Canada specifically to fill spots in the country’s strip clubs. According to a Toronto Sun editorial today, strip clubs in Canada can’t find enough Canadian women to “perform” so they are looking elsewhere.
According to the article, HRCD’s labour market study has noted that importing strippers is not illegal because they will “not adversely affect employment opportunities for Canadian citizens.”“This is a legitimate occupation,” it says, and Immigration Canada will put them in their own category to help meet the employment shortage.
