ROCKTON, Illinois (LifeSiteNews) — A public library that planned to hold a “Drag Q&A” event moved it online and is rescheduling it due to public pushback against the event.

“Safety of everyone is our first priority,” the Talcott Free Library wrote on its website. “After talking with the police/fire departments this week in multiple discussions of the huge number of people on both sides planning to attend, we have determined an in-person event will not be safe for our patrons or presenter at this time.”

It is not clear when the event will be held yet. “Please bear with us as we re-plan the entire event,” the library wrote.

“The drag queen Q&A was planned as part of the library’s teen summer program called Find Your Voice,” the Rock River Current reported. “At issue is whether a drag event is appropriate at a taxpayer-funded venue.”

Concerned citizens spoke out during the most recent library meeting to oppose the ongoing sexualization of children and the use of government services to push the LGBT agenda.

“Library boards have a stewardship to the community,” a local father told the news outlet. “They fail in their stated mission goal to provide a safe space for young and old when they allow predatory sexual ideologues to indoctrinate our children.”

LGBT groups came out to the meeting at the end of June as well to voice their support for exposing children to drag queens.

The drag queen is “Krystal Ball…a 26-year-old gay man who grew up in Belvidere and now lives in Rockford. He has been performing as a drag queen for over six years,” the Rock River Current reported.

Speaking in support of exposing kids to gay drag queens was Violet Johnicker, a minister at Brooke Road United Methodist Church.

Johnicker celebrated the library board’s vote in support of the event. “We’re thrilled to see that freedom of expression was affirmed,” Johnicker said. “People of faith from across the region are celebrating that this is a community where people really love their neighbors, and we’re committed to supporting enthusiastic and inclusive welcome for drag queens especially.”

Drag queen story hours have been a tool used by LGBT activists to indoctrinate kids. It was recently revealed that a health clinic that works with children with autism hosted a drag queen event.
