MP was Militant Canadian Government Supporter of Homosexuality at UN

OTTAWA, April 24, 2002 (LSN.ca) – In one of the most outrageous speeches ever made in the Canadian parliament, Liberal MP Hedy Fry, the former Secretary of State for Status of Women Canada, endorsed the “right” of children “below the age of 16” to “engage in sexual activity.” In her speech, made yesterday regarding a motion to raise the age of consent in Canada from 14 to at least 16, she went so far as to positively discuss “sexual activity…at the age of 13.”

Fry spoke of a “need” of such young children to have sex with each other. “First and foremost there must be a recognition that young people under the age of 16 do have a sexuality that they need to express and engage in consensually with each other,” she said.

Fry has played a major Canadian role at the United Nations promoting abortion and homosexuality. As the head of the Canadian delegation to the United Nations Beijing +5 conference she fought to have the document promote an “inherent right of the person to make decisions about her sexual and reproductive life.” In 1999 Fry was quoted in Canada’s leading homosexual newspaper Xtra! as saying that Canada is the foremost supporter of homosexuality at the UN. Speaking to lesbian activists, she said, “All I can tell you is that Canada went to the wall on this issue, and it’s the only country that goes to the wall on this issue every single time.”
