RICHMOND, Feb 9, 2001 (LSN.ca) – Informed Consent bills on abortion requiring a 24-hour waiting period before abortions have passed through the House and Senate in both Virginia and Arkansas. The legislation also requires mothers seeking abortion to be informed of the risks and alternatives to abortion. Both State’s Governors have agreed to sign the legislation, however the Arkansas legislation must have amendments made in the Senate cleared in the House.
