(LifeSiteNews) — Instagram announced Tuesday that it has permanently banned Pornhub from posting on its social media platform.

Instagram said the porn-streaming service violated the terms of use despite frequent warnings.

“We’ve permanently disabled this Instagram account for repeatedly violating our policies,” a spokesperson said Tuesday.

Pornhub was suspended from Instagram at the beginning of September because of allegations that it was, according to National Center on Sexual Exploitation CEO Dawn Hawkins, “violating its community standards given the increasing reports of Pornhub hosting child sexual abuse material, sex trafficking, filmed rape, and non-consensual videos and images.”

“Instagram is courageously choosing to stop partnering with Pornhub, and it is time for all corporate entities to follow its example,” Hawkins said regarding this suspension earlier in September.

Pornhub reacted to the removal from Instagram by claiming that its content was “fully PG.”

“Sex workers and performers have been unfairly targeted in the form of bans, shadow bans, suspensions, loss of Live privileges, and content removal, despite taking extra care not to violate Instagram’s Community Guidelines,” Pornhub wrote in a letter to Instagram on Tuesday.

“We demand an explanation and guidance as to why our accounts are continuously deleted, and why content we spend money creating in order to engage with our audience is removed, even when we do not breach any of Instagram’s rules.”
