IQALUIT, May 2, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Inuit spokesmen are criticizing the country’s Liberal-sanctioned drift toward embracing homosexual marriage, saying such a concept is as “alien” to their culture as it is to every other.  “We do not agree with same-sex marriage,” said one representative, Kanayuk Salomonie. “This is not part of our custom, it is alien to us. As children, we knew that only men and woman can make children together.” Salomonie predicted same-sex marriage will eventually be forced on them, just as other aspects of “white culture” have been.  James Arreak, a Pentecostal minister, said he was testifying on behalf of Inuit elders who oppose a “gay tidal wave,” and that “many Inuit feel morally obligated to oppose the radical agenda of the gay-rights movement.” He added, “Inuit values prioritize survival and family life. Inuit values would say that gay people cannot create life, that they cannot produce a child.”  For National Post coverage:  https://www.nationalpost.com/national/story.html?id=3F19ACC5-4981-4E55-8790-1837A044C12D
