OTTAWA, Feb 16, 2001 (LSN.ca) – Canadian Alliance MP Grant Hill, the Official Opposition Families Critic asked the Liberal government in the House of Commons yesterday about the public funding of a workshop for teens as young as 14 on “safer” sado-masochistic sex. “I would like to know whether the Liberals think that is a good use of Canadian taxpayers’ funds,” said Hill. Deputy Prime Minister Herb Gray said he would check into the matter. “Obviously we do not support anything involving abusive material for our young people,” Gray said.

LifeSite News exposed the Health Canada funding of the event Feb 8th after the Barrie Examiner reported on the workshop. MP Hill is also a medical doctor and told LifeSite, “from the standpoint of a physician I treated all kinds of violence and never found a way of making it safer.” He said he would pursue the issue and not let it rest.
