DUBLIN, Apr 19 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The abortion-promoting United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)  welcomed an increase of fifty per cent in Ireland’s annual contribution to the Fund yesterday. “We’re delighted that Ireland has made this increased commitment to UNFPA and hope other countries will follow the example of Ireland,” said Dr. Nafis Sadik, Executive Director of UNFPA.

The contribution from Ireland now stands at 600,000 Irish Pounds ($1.1 million CDN), up from $400,000 pounds in 1999.  Ireland has been a supporter of UNFPA since it began contributing to the fund in 1993 and plays an active role on the UNFPA Executive Board.
