MANASSAS, Virginia, Oct 8 (LSN) – A source close the Hugh Finn family has revealed damning evidence suggesting that the man is being intentionally killed. His wife ordered his feeding tube removed,  arguing in court that he is in a permanent vegetative state, and that he had told her previously that he did not want to be kept alive artificially if he was ever in such a condition. Virginia governor, Jim Gilmore, tried to have the order reversed, but Finn continues to face death by starvation. The feeding tube was removed last Thursday by Finn’s nursing home.  The disturbing revelations have been made by Fran Griffen, a US political activist who acquired inside information about Finn’s condition after contacting other members of his family. The evidence has been made public in court proceedings, but is being ignored by the media.  Mrs. Griffen reports that doctors, nurses, social workers, clergymen and other third parties have signed affidavits testifying that the 44-year-old, 190-pound Hugh Finn is not and has never been in a “vegetative state.”  —On September 18, Finn said “Hi” to Nurse Marie Saul, who swore under oath to this fact the next day.  —Over the past week, Finn communicated with several government social workers by nodding his head in response to various questions.  —On Friday, October 3, 1998 (a day after the feeding tube was removed), Steve Martino, a close friend of Finn, visited him and asked him if he wanted to eat. Hugh blinked “yes.”  —A priest who visited Hugh on Saturday, October 4, said that Hugh responded with eye gestures to a number of questions.  —Credible and repetitive evidence from family members and third parties has revealed that Hugh Finn has spoken, kissed, sang and performed other acts that would not be done by a person in a persistent vegetative state.  Griffen said that Mrs. Finn ordered that no video taping be made of her husband, leading to suspicions that she wants to keep the public in the dark concerning her husband’s ability to communicate.  She further ordered the nursing home to discontinue the use of a drug which was improving her husband’s ability to speak.  Round the clock prayer vigils are being held at the nursing home to protest what appears to be the calculated killing of Hugh Finn by his wife. Some protestors are trying to get Finn placed in protective custody to give people other than his wife the authority to make decisions on his behalf.
