December 3, 2019 (LifeSiteNews)- Let's face it: this year we have seen over and over again how the mainstream media is a gate keeper – manipulating the news cycle to give privileged emphasis to stories that align with their liberal ideologies – and alternatively, trashing, distorting or ignoring those that don’t.
This manipulation of the news has become more rampant and vicious in recent months than we have ever seen in all the years that LifeSite has existed.
We therefore are calling on all our readers to support and defend with all our might the traditional life, family and faith values that we all stand for!
Innocent lives are at stake, traditional family values, parental rights and all of our most precious rights are at stake – like never before in recent history.

We can’t afford not to act now.
Let me give you a concrete example:
Despite the growing bias of anti-family news, our staff recently worked tirelessly to report on James Younger, a 7-year-old boy who was facing a possible medical gender ‘transition’ due to the wishes of his mother, who had been forcing him to live as a girl since he was 5!
When his dad fought back to ask the court for a say in this ‘transition,’ the media completely ignored the case.
Our reporter was one of only two who were in the courtroom for the entire duration of the trial. Parental rights were under extreme attack, the future mental and physical health of James was in great danger, and yet mainstream media refused to acknowledge this insanity!
It wasn’t until a Texas jury ruled against the father trying to protect his son from this medically questionable ‘transition’ that a national outcry ensued. This national response was due largely to LifeSiteNews’ reporting on the case as we broke the news of the jury’s decision.
Media that has previously ignored the story found all the background information they needed, in our many previous and thorough text and video reports on the case. That then exposed the travesty of what was being done to James and his father to a national audience.
LifeSiteNews didn’t ignore Mr. Younger, and neither did the LifeSite giving family.
The generosity of our supporters made our reporting on this case possible and gave both James and his father a voice through our numerous on-the-ground reports on the case.

Because of our lead reporting on this crucial story, lawmakers and legislators publicly decried the jury’s ruling. Just a few days after the jury decision, the judge presiding over the case surprised everyone and granted joint managing conservatorship to both parents, giving the father the ability to STOP his son’s possible ‘transition.’
State legislators are now even proposing laws to prevent medical gender ‘transitions’ for children under 18. This is a huge victory – facilitated by our generous supporters!

While sad stories like James’ tempt us to throw our hands up and walk away – we must press on and continue to take a stand for life and family.
Without our reporting on James and his father, the outcome of the case would have been much different, and that’s exactly what mainstream media wanted. But your support today will ensure that LifeSite, not the extremely biased, untrustworthy mainstream media, is the leading news source on stories like this!

Will you help us give a voice to the voiceless? A monthly or one-time gift from all of our readers of $35, $100, $250, or $500 will help grow our efforts to speak up for the voiceless and restore the culture through news media.
Our supporters helped create a national movement in support of James Younger and now a movement to protect thousands of other children through new legislation. I hope you will consider joining them.
We have become aware that there are many more stories like James’ around the world. We are getting calls and emails almost every week from other parents caught in similar situations. Many find themselves feeling totally helpless, vulnerable, alone and not knowing where to turn. They’re up against seemingly impossible odds and a culture that does not respect life, marriage, family, faith and freedom.
Your gift is a concrete way to ensure that millions receive the news and information and practical support they need to take a stand against the culture of death who is determined to destroy life and the natural family.
Your gift will help to build movements that spontaneously happen in response to our uniquely reliable news reports on these issues.
