TOKYO, July 15, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Japanese government has accepted the advice an advisory panel handed down Tuesday to allow human cloning for research purposes.  Japanese media report that the Science Ministry and other relevant government branches will compile guidelines based on the recommendations.  The panel recommended permitting the cloning of human embryos in the hopes of embryonic stem cell treatments for various diseases.  See local coverage:  https://www.asahi.com/english/nation/TKY200407150183.html
