1 million names against abortion Join us in urging the Supreme Court to stop the killing

NORWOOD, Ohio (LifeSiteNews) — Beloved Catholic actor Jim Caviezel and former Planned Parenthood executive-turned-pro-life activist Abby Johnson will be speaking at a rosary rally on Sunday, August 6 to save Ohio’s children from abortion and genital mutilation.

The rally will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Dorl Field in Norwood, Ohio, 10 minutes from downtown Cincinnati, and will also feature General Michael Flynn, a senior adviser of Catholics for Catholics, in addition to other prominent Christian leaders.

The rosary rally, which is being put on by Joe Condit and The Catholic Speakers Organization and Catholics for Catholics, aims to pray for the passage of and encourage as many people as possible to vote “yes” on Issue 1, which would require a stronger majority of Ohioans to vote in favor of any new proposed constitutional amendments and could prevent the radical amendment from being passed. A special election on Issue 1 will be held Tuesday, August 8.

While currently a 50% plus one vote in favor is acceptable to approve a proposed amendment, Issue 1 would increase that percentage to a 60% supermajority.

A proposal to create an Ohio constitutional amendment enshrining abortion as a “right” recently gained enough signatures to land on the ballot in November. If approved by Ohio voters, it would categorically forbid the prohibition of abortion post-”viability” if such an abortion were deemed necessary by a physician “to protect the pregnant patient’s [sic] life or health.”

Conservative critics are also concerned that the broad language of the amendment could allow children to obtain genital mutilation surgeries in the state without parental notification and consent because the proposal bans any direct or indirect interference or burdens placed upon “reproductive decisions.”

A USA TODAY Network/Suffolk University poll of 500 likely Ohio voters conducted earlier this month found that some 58% of Ohio voters support the amendment to enshrine a “right” to abortion in the state constitution, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.

The proposal was drafted by the ACLU of Ohio and gathered a total of 700,000 signatures in favor of the ballot initiative across Ohio over the span of 12 weeks, according to local ABC affiliate News 5 Cleveland

Catholics for Catholics CEO John Yep is urging pro-lifers across the country to pray for the Ohio elections and is calling on those who live in the neighboring Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky tri-state area to attend the upcoming rally.

Author and radio host Jesse Romero is also calling on Christians to wield the power of prayer to ensure the lives of unborn children in Ohio are protected.

“Take your rosary. We’re going to count on the Virgin Most Powerful. We’re going to unite our prayers to [hers],” Romero said in a promo video for the rally.
