BALTIMORE, Feb. 5, 2001 (LSN.ca) – Johns Hopkins University, an institution well known for its work in population control in the Third World, is set to jump headlong into the controversial world of stem cell research. Last Tuesday the institution announced it has received an anonymous (U.S.) $58.5 million endowment for its new Institute for Cell Engineering (ICE). The university admits in its press release that it will be using human embryos in the research.
