MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich, July 24 (LSN) Attempts to stop the parents of a 29 weeks pregnant 12-year-old girl from taking her out of state for an abortion appear to have failed.
Judge Pamela Gilbert O’Sullivan relinquished the court’s custody over the child, which she had previously ordered, being satisfied with the prosecutor’s report that the girl was not being “rushed out of town because the parents were embarrassed”. The parents plan to take their daughter to a Witchita Kansas abortuary since Michigan law prohibits abortions after 24 weeks. It is expected that first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges will be filed against the girl’s brother who alledgedly impregnated her.
