WASHINGTON, D.C., January 27, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — It’s a “new day and a new dawn for life” in America, says the most powerful woman in the White House, Kellyanne Conway.
The counselor to President Donald Trump greeted wildly cheering crowds at today’s March for Life in Washington with the words: “I am Kellyanne Conway. I am a wife, a mother, a Catholic, counselor to the president of the United States of America and yes, I am pro-life!”
She told the crowd that the Trump administration is committed to protecting and defending the child in the womb.
“This is a time of incredible promise for the pro-life, pro-adoption movement,” she said.

As Trump’s campaign manager, Conway was the first woman from either major party to lead a presidential candidate to victory in the general election.
Conway, who turned 50 on inauguration day, was a senior member of the Trump transition team before being appointed Counselor to the President.
“Steps away from here, in the White House, a president and a vice president sit at their desks and make decisions for our nation. As they sit there, they stand here with you,” Conway told the crowd.
As if to illustrate this, Vice President Mike Pence spoke after Conway’s brief address.
“Their impassioned defences of life as presidential candidates showed a nation that courage and conviction can overcome indifference and insults,” she said.
“So to the March for Life 2017, allow me to make it very clear: we hear you, we see you, we respect you, and we look forward to working with you, and yes, we walk, we march, we run, and we endeavour forward with you.”
She congratulated the pro-life marchers for their commitment.
“Your conviction, your resolve and your faith are impressive and consequential,” Conway said. “This is a new day and a new dawn for life.”
“Why are we here? What does it mean to stand together to be part of this incredible movement, to face criticism, ridicule, laws and lawmakers that diminish and erode our most basic right and the bedrock of our society?” she asked.
“It means to protect and promote the most precious gift in the world, the gift of life,” Conway stated.
“It means to stand up, tall and stand together against the indifference and the indefensible, and to stand up, stand tall and stand together on behalf of babies in the womb.”
The “dismissive notion of out of sight is out of mind is over,” Conway said. “Science and medicine have joined religion and morality in causing many Americans to rethink just how fragile and how triumphant human life truly is.”
“Just speak to many women who faced challenges becoming and remaining pregnant and then welcomed a miracle,” she said.
“Or talk to the couples who are now parents because adoption not abortion was the best choice,” Conway said, at which the crowd broke into a huge cheer.
“Our message and our actions should also reach those women who face unplanned pregnancies. They should know they are not alone, they are not judged, they too are protected and cared for and celebrated.”
Conway described herself as “the face of Trump’s movement” in an interview with Hollywood Reporter, and she’s been Trump’s fearless defender with the media, crossing swords with CNN’s Anderson Cooper and Chuck Todd of NBC’s Meet the Press.
Trump praised this media savvy when he called Conway to the stage during a campaign donors’ dinner the night before his inauguration.
“There is no den she will not go into. When my men are petrified to go on a certain network I say, ‘Kellyanne, will you go?’ Then she gets on and she just destroys them. So anyway, thank you, baby. Thank you. Thank you. Be careful,” Trump told Conway.
Conway now has Secret Service protection, which began after packages with “suspicious white substances” were delivered to her home, according to the New York Post.
She also is attacked on what she calls the “the public cesspool that is Twitter,” where Trump’s opponents brand her as an “ugly, stupid, liar, meth queen,” Conway told Hollywood Reporter.
Conway earned a law degree before founding a polling and research firm 21 years ago.
Her clients have included Vice President Mike Pence and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Conway compiled research and co-authored the 2005 book What Women Really Want: How American Women Are Quietly Erasing Political, Racial, Class, and Religious Lines to Change the Way We Live with Democratic strategist Celinda Lake and contributor Catherine Whitney.
She is married to George Conway, a partner in a New York law firm, and the family lives in the New York suburb of Alpine, New Jersey, one of America’s richest areas.
The Republican pollster and strategist is mother of four children, 12-year-old twins, an 8-year-old and a 7-year-old.
When asked how she could juggle being a mother and wife with her high-level job, Conway famously riposted: “I don’t play golf and I don’t have a mistress,” before noting that “the kids come first.”
