NAIROBI, Kenya, June 2, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Kenyan government took a firm stand on abortion Monday.  Abortion, attempts to procure it and homosexual sex acts, are criminal offences under the Penal Code, Attorney General Amos Wako said in a statement Monday evening.

The AG assured the public he would prosecute suspects who have committed and/or attempted to commit abortion and who have procured and/or attempted to procure abortions.  He explained that it was his constitutional responsibility to “promote, protect and uphold the rule of law and defend the public interest.”  The statements came in the wake of the arrest of a doctor and two nurses suspected to be involved in the abortion of 15 babies found dumped at Ngong’ River in Nairobi last week.  See Related Coverage:  https://www.kentimes.com/02jun04/nwsstory/news4.html
