SUN VALLEY, Idaho, August 18, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry was back for vacation in Sun Valley, where he made a point to attend mass – and receive communion. This time he at least wore a proper suit, rather than the ski suit he wore during his last appearance.

The-Times News reported that the church—Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church—was more highly attended than usual, apparently by people trying to catch a glimpse of the Kerry phenomenon.  CBS was on-hand for a photo before being removed by a contingent of Secret Service agents.  Midge Stastny, who has attended the parish for years told The-Times, “I haven’t seen that big a crowd since Christmas.”  Kerry wore a blue blazer and sat in the front row of a rear section of the church.  Joseph M. Starrs, director of American Life League’s Crusade for the Defense of Our Catholic Church, following Kerry’s appearance at Our Lady of the Snows in March, said the fact that “Sen. John Kerry is willing to use the holy sacrifice of the Mass as a ‘media op’ shows his utter contempt for the faith he claims to embrace. This is disgusting. The senator and his staff should publicly apologize to Our Lady of the Snows parish, its pastor and congregation, and to all faithful Catholics for this charade.”  To contact Our Lady of the Snows parish:  [email protected]
