REGINA, Nov 24 (LSN) – Robert Latimer, the Saskatchewan resident who used his car as a makeshift gas chamber to kill his 12-year-old disabled daughter Tracy in 1993, is free on bail after appealing the life sentence re-instated against him by Saskatchewan’s highest court yesterday. Latimer was in police custody only three hours before being released pending the decision of the Supreme Court of Canada on whether or not to hear the appeal.  The Canadian Family Action Coalition revealed today that “Ironically, Latimer was once convicted in Saskatchewan as an accessory to the rape of a 13 year-old girl, but later,  on appeal to a higher court, his conviction was thrown out on a technicality.”
