SAN FRANCISCO, Feb 20, 2001 (LSN.ca) – Lori Andrews, a prominent law professor of Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, told the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting Sunday, “I can foresee a time when human embryos would be patented.” Andrews, who chaired a federal advisory panel on the ethical, legal, and social implications of the human genome project, continued “Nothing in patent law forbids that.”
