RE: Choice and Personhood

Dear Editor,

I’ll tell you what is self-righteous bigotry, hypocrisy, and downright arrogance. Science can tell us that a fossilized dinosaur lived 65 million years ago and can name it by genus and specie and yet we have a hard time understanding that a human embryo is a human being within a nine month period.

Science and law tell us that eagle eggs and eagle embryos are eagles, so much so, that we made a law to make sure they don’t go extinct. Science tells us that you don’t get eagles from chicken embryos or chicken eggs.

There is no perversion to American history that we once thought that Afro-Americans were not human and did not deserve the term personhood but the best legal minds of that century said it was so. If the concept of choice was our metaphysical guide, we might still have slavery.

Someone will say that this has nothing to do with personhood only citizenship. That is just usage of words when you consider that slaves were property not persons in the whole sense. Atheists and agnostics had time to do away with slavery. It took Christians to mount the charge and demolish that institution.

The chief justice in the Dred Scott decision said, “A black man has no right which the white man is bound to respect.” The full statement read, “They had for more than a century before been regarded as beings of an inferior order, and altogether unfit to associate with the white race, either in social or political relations; and so far inferior, that they had no rights which the white man was bound to respect; and that the negro might justly and lawfully be reduced to slavery for his benefit.” That describes tiered personhood.

Seven sovereign Supreme Court judges decided in Roe v. Wade that the term person “has application postnatally.” We have not learned our lesson.of history. Basically we are saying the same thing about the unborn. The unborn is of an inferior order and all together unfit to associate with the human race, and they have no rights to be respected. They can lawfully be reduced to death for his/her benefit.

And yes, I know that some Christians quoted the Bible to excuse their choice.

Continue to report your articles. Maybe someone will wake up.

Re: Thank Youre Gardasil Information (Enter gardasil or HPV vaccine in LifeSiteNews search)

As a Mother of a 14-yr old, I truly apprectiate the information and the format you provided regarding, “the Gardasil experiment.”  I feel justified by my red flags in my head when I refused to allow them to inject my baby with a new supposed vaccine.  If it hasn’t been necessary for 2000 years to perpetuate the species, I don’t know why it’s necessary today.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Dear Editor:

Thank you so much for your daily coverage.

I’ve just happened to catch a news segment from CTV news with Monica Maddison about stem cell research.  For the longest time she only mentioned stem cell research and Obama but later towards the end she mentioned embryonic the “current gold standard”.  What could she mean by that? Is she telling the truth? If she isn’t, shouldn’t she be made accountable for her deceiving all the viewers out there???

Re: Column: In Defense of Divine Providence

What an excellent article.  In defense of Divine Providence by John Jalsevac is a masterpiece.  What is needed next is a questionnaire on which every Catholic can rate himself on all major issues facing us today.  Recommended reading could be listed for areas that we fail in.  We must stop saying we are Catholic if we refuse to live by God’s Divine Providence or refuse to develop a correct conscience.
