Re: Letter from Jane from British Columbia

I would like to comment on another letter from one of your readers, “Jane” from British Columbia. It is a temptation to rant here, given that Barack Obama is not a “good” man—-he is a socialist who will promote a culture of death in this country. He is not even our president yet, and is already doing that. However, I want to address the difference between war and abortion.
I imagine I am home in bed, asleep with my husband, when an intruder breaks into our house, threatening to kill us if we don’t give him all the money in the house. We have nothing to give him. A struggle ensues. In the end, my husband is hurt but the intruder is dead. Is my husband a murderer?
In my opinion, our country (under the leadership of the commander-in-chief) is a man protecting his wife and children. He is doing the thing he hates for their sakes, knowing he is their only hope. Should he stand aside and hope for the best?
The pro-choice activist (whether a doctor, politician or citizen) is the intruder. He goes on the attack against someone innocently asleep in his bed (his mother’s womb), driven by selfishness and money. There is never an excuse for this.
As long as people who say they are “pro-life” continue to support the cause of anti-life politicians, pretending to take the moral high ground, we will continue our downward spiral in America. May God help us all.
Sincerely,
Kristyn Hall – Michigan

Those who believe that the Iraq situation justifies a President who would add to the present 1.4 million murders of unborn and ‘partially’ born babies in the USA alone, should take a good look at the photographic evidence of what abortion really means. Then think about the emotional holocaust which goes unseen initially but is surely reflected in society through rampant evil and callousness. If we ‘legislate’ to kill our babies, what can be a worse crime?
Neither wars nor pagan legislation are acceptable but voting for an unshackled increase in cold hearted murder is washing your hands in the blood of these innocents who will continue to die
in their millions not only in the US, but now also across the world because of the US’s coming loosening of controls, finances and ‘taboos’. All courtesy of one man bent on ‘change’. Yes, he can…… now. And who put him there to do it?

We very much appreciate your emails which help keep us appraised and educated about current events regarding “LIFE” issues. Our whole family voted for “pro-life” candidates in the recent election, as did nearly half of the American voters. We are very disappointed with the outcome of the presidential election but we know that God can somehow conquer this evil, with good. No matter how unpopular our pro-life values may become, we will never vote for candidates who support the killing of innocent babies, as the Obama/Biden team do.
After reading some of the previous comments, we wonder why anyone who voted for the liberal, pro-abortion candidates would even read Lifesite News? How can these folks say they are worried about people being killed in a war against terrorists, but they do not care that innocent babies are being slaughtered daily, for no good reason?
America and the world should start praying for God’s mercy because He is surely offended by the choices of our new leaders.

I refer readers to the pope’s comments on Obama’s presidency given in the Toronto Sun News of Nov.6 2008 and to the comments of one of the greatest theologian of all time,St. Thomas Aquinas on the matter of human life and conception.
While some bishops have committed ‘sins’ of omission regarding matters of the sexual lapses by the clergy, the Obama family will, by their example, do more so that ‘His kingdom will come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven’

A friend who passes out pro life flyers in her neighborhood at night remarked on how she sees in every home the blue light of the tv. It is eerie to think that we all spend our evenings in front of the blue light shaping our beliefs. How else could Catholics be coerced into thinking 50 million of the MOST vulnerable- are not the highest priority?
