Re: Survey: Concerned Parents Want Media, Gov't to Fight TV Smut
Regarding the best way to monitor television and other media. The opening sentence is very disturbing: “Parents have deep concerns about the impact depictions of violence, sex, drugs, and profanity have on their children, and want the media industry and government to help them do something about it, according to a new national survey.”
We must not default on our duties as parents by looking to the government to act as parents, doing our work for us. The government will do this the way it currently protects our children's lives when they are in the womb.
It is our role as parents to monitor television and other media. The best tool for monitoring electronic media is a pair of wire cutters, or lacking that, an old hockey stick. Then we parents can use the time that has been created to read good stories out loud.

Re: New Jersey School Nixes 'Cross-dressing' Fashion Show After Parent Complains
To Whom it May Concern:
For me the question brought up by this article is much deeper than asking a boy to dress in women’s clothing of whatever period of time! The whole idea of FOCUSING on Women’s History Month is just a politically correct and appalling thing to require children to do to learn history! What will be next, Children’s History Month, Teenager History Month, Emerging Adult History Month????
It is easy to see how this kind of emphasis could lead to all kinds of aberrations and plain silliness. I wanted my children and now grandchildren to understand the great themes of history, the real people who gave their lives for the good of mankind and the glory of God, the complex ideas that generate(d) the economic and political choices of different times and peoples, the differences in cultures, and a taste of the transcendence of God in His world and creation.
Thank you for allowing me to vent.

Re: Sodano’s “Head Should Roll”: Report Reveals Close Ties Between Vatican Cardinal and Disgraced Legion Founder Maciel
I really love your website and have been passing it on to as many people as possible, however I was very disappointed on your article on the legionaries of Christ, whilst I am very open to the truth I felt the tone of the article resembled a report in one of the down market tabloids and totally ignores the excellent work this order is doing in bringing people to God all over the world.
I have been privliged to attend retreats given by priests of this order and have found them to be true holy and humble servants of God. The secular media have given enough speculative reports without the catholic media following suit.

I know nothing of Cardinal Sodano and his alleged dealings with Fr. Maciel, but I wish to object in principle to any story on a prince of the Church that uses no sources other than America, the National Catholic Reporter and the New York Times. LifeSite of all publications ought to know better, especially this last couple of weeks.

Editors Note:We too have known many wonderful priests and lay people associated with the Legionaries. However, there is much evidence now, especially thanks to the current Pope, to indicate severe corruption at the top of the order that must be faced. If there is anything that has been a mandatory lesson of recent years, it is that these types of revelations must not be hidden or left to be quietly dealt with, which has usually meant that they were not dealt with. Public exposure has been the key to reform. We would not have published the report had we not believed, from our own experience, that there was likely a great deal of truth to the report. As well, many other credible media have referred to the NCR report, which appears to have been well researched. We are certainly not fans of NCR, but they do have a reputation for credible investigative reporting.

Re: North Dakota Measure Seeks to Ban Decapitation, Skull Crushing during Abortions
Dear Editor,
I am appalled (and yet amused) that your sheepish followers are trying to get a measure on the ballot that has absolutely no standing. In ND, the only clinic we have that provides necessary services to women for all their reproductive means (which you disagree with in all-even birth control) only provides abortions for women who are 15 weeks along or less. There is no reason to put a measure on a ballot that isn't going to make a difference anyway. You think no one is going to say no to this because you say they would be evil? Think again.
The “personhood” bill was thrown in the trash by the ND senate for a reason. Not because they are evil for not taking your bullshit stance, but because it is completely irrelevant and unreasonable. If you are so pro life why don't you get one and stay out of mine.
BTW: every month I make a contribution for women's reproductive choice. That includes donations for birth control, condom distribution, std tests, infertility and abortions. All those things you hate for women to have in their lives. You wish to take support from women? Try and take it from me. Because when I decide to have children after I stop taking my “evil” birth control I will raise my spawn to live their lives the way they see fit. I don't have to raise them like you do-to spite people like me.
The real pro life is what I am doing right now. Living my life, making a contribution so other women can live their lives and by taking my birth control so I can keep living my own life until I am ready to place children on the planet that will do you absolutely no good.
The thorn that will be in your side for years to come

Re: 'Catholics for Choice' Demands Abortion in Canada's G8 Maternal Health Plan
Dear LifeSiteNews,
First of all, many thanks for your awesome and faithfilled reporting on world news, as well as the news in Canada. You have no idea how much it is appreciated to have REAL news for a change!
I would like to point out, that in regards to your reportage on Catholics for Choice, it might be good to do a piece about them because there is a LOT of confusion in regards to them. They support homosexual marriage, abortion, euthansia, and many other things against the teachings of the Church. They really are anti-Catholic… even though they say that they are Catholic.

Editors Note:Actually, LSN has done many articles on Catholics for a Free Choice which appears to be the same organization. However, it does need to be repeatedly noted that this group is a fraud since the public is not aware of this.

Dear Editor,
Stupidity knows no bounds. When are those who carry out and promote abortions going to be charged with many more crimes against humanity?

Re: Praise for LifeSiteNews
There are many pro-life web sites but, to my mind, yours is the best because (i) it is set out best, between paragraphs, lay-out, content, language, street-talk etc, and (ii) it gives contact details in many cases of people involved in stories. Like when you report some good news story my impulse is to cheer and e-mail a Thank you” from Ireland to the initiator of the good news. Also, that should show such people the benefits of technology, and LifeSiteNews, in bringing news to the whole world. The same would apply towards bad news. By giving the contact details your readers can e-mail the people involved to express their displeasure.
