IRELAND, December 5, 2016 (LifeSiteNews)–Actor Liam Neeson has resigned as president of his childhood boxing club after facing outrage over narrating a pro-abortion ad that attacked the Catholic Church.

Amnesty International released the video as part of an ongoing campaign attacking Ireland for its pro-life laws protecting pre-born children. It portrayed the Catholic Church as the backwards, dark force behind Ireland's pro-life laws.

A spokesperson for Neeson confirmed to UK media that he resigned as president of All Saints Amateur Boxing Club. Apparently, locals were unhappy with and scandalized by Neeson's abortion advocacy.

Ireland's 8th Amendment, which protects the right to life, has been in the crosshairs of abortion activists for some time now. Life Institute, a Irish pro-life organization, has a host of resources on the amendment. The pro-life organization Youth Defence released their own clever video defending the 8th amendment.
