OTTAWA, May 12, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Canadian Alliance Member of Parliament and Waste Watchdog John Williams released his latest copy of the Waste Report Friday.  The report highlights among other things the fact that the Liberal government spending wasted $142,901 through the National Film Board for “Apples and Oranges”, a film to educate children, ages 8-12, about people with lesbian or gay sexual orientations” or “children who don’t conform to gender stereotypes”.  “Just after Canadians have paid their taxes to their government, it is disheartening to see so much spent on wasteful and frivolous expenditures,” said Williams.  The report also noted that in fiscal years 2001 and 2002, taxpayers purchased 4,261 dozen golf balls at a cost of $132,487 and that spending on golf tees $14,485.89.  Copies of the Waste Report are available on the Canadian Alliance website at:  www.canadianalliance.ca/waste
