OFFSHORE KILLING: EUTHANASIA BOAT IN THE WAKE OF ABORTION

SYDNEY, May 31 (LSN.ca) – Just days after the news of a similar proposal regarding abortion, Austalian euthanasia activist Philip Nitschke said Wednesday he plans to euthanize people on a boat anchored in internatinoal waters. Wanting to thwart laws against euthanasia, Nitschke, the Australian Dr. Death, said he had sought legal counsel on the death-ship idea and had parties interested in supporting the venture.

Agence France Presse reports that Nitschke was in London, England this week to display his “Death Machine” at the Science Museum. The museum explained its acceptance of the death dealing contraption saying “Our aim in acquiring the euthanasia machine is to stimulate thoughtful and responsible public debate about the issue.”

ABORTIONIST ‘DR. ZORRO’ GETS ONLY PROBATION

NEW YORK, May 31 (LSN.ca) – Abortionist Allan Zarkin, who is known as Dr. Zorro for having carved his initials into the abdomen of a patient while acting as an ob/gyn performing a caesarian section, was given only probation as punishment. Yesterday a deal was reached with prosecutors which would see Zarkin banned from medicine and required to see a psychiatrist twice a week.

Zarkin’s lawyer claimed his client has Pick’s disorder which clouded his judgement leading to his assault on his patient. Zarkin’s carving victim Dr Liana Gedz settled out of court for US $1.75 million.

INTERNATIONAL HOMOSEXUAL MOVEMENT AND THE UN

NEW YORK, May 31 (LSN.ca) – The International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA), based in Brussels, Belgium is pushing for the United Nations to implement an additional UN Charter just for homosexuals. The World Congress for Families reported last week that the group has outlined a 15-year strategic plan to “eliminate all discrimination and oppression against LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transsexual] people by he year 2015 everywhere on this planet.” One of the components in the plan involves the UN adopting a homosexual UN Convention by 2007.

The group has been accorded special recognition by the UN. In October 1998 the ILGA met with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson, in Geneva to discuss the advancement of lesbian and gay rights as human rights. According to an ILGA report on the meeting Robinson appointed a liaison person in her office for ILGA to maintain stronger links and requested that ILGA supply material to help in the training of lesbian and gay awareness for all UN employees and working groups.

ABORTION-HOLOCAUST COMPARISON OKAYED BY GERMAN COURT

KARLSRUHE, Germany, May 31 (LSN.ca) – A German federal court has ruled that pro-lifers have the right to compare the Nazi Holocaust to the abortion holocaust. Freedom of expression on the issue was nearly quashed when a lower court ruling had ruled a pamphlet saying “Yesterday the Holocaust. Today the Babycaust,” illegal. Agence France Presse reports that while the current ruling did say the comparison was not illegal it did say it was improper.

ISRAEL’S TOP COURT OKAYS HOMOSEXUAL PARENTHOOD

JERUSALEM, May 31 (LSN.ca) – On Monday, Israel’s Supreme Court ruled that two lesbians could be legally registered as the mothers of the same child in a decision denounced by faithful Jewish leaders. Nicole and Ruti Barnea-Kadish, lesbian activists living in Tel Aviv were granted legal parent status of Ruti’s four-year-old son, Matan conceived through in vitro fertilization with an anonymous sperm donation. The Globe and Mail reported Tuesday that the pair originally registered as parents of the child in California, which allows such registrations and then applied for similar registration in Israel.

Rabbi Haim Druckman, a National Religious Party member of the Knesset (Israeli Parliament) said “the message that arises from the ruling is the destruction of the family.” Rabbi Abraham Ravitz, a legislator from the Orthodox United Torah Judaism party, submitted a motion in parliament, saying, “I know of a state which had laws like this, it was called Sodom. The judges are intelligent but they are cut off from their Jewish roots and from the true feelings of society.”
