(LifeSiteNews) – LifeSiteNews has launched a petition calling for the condemnation of the politically motivated FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s Florida home on Monday.
On August 8, a team of FBI agents descended on Trump’s Mar-A-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida, apparently to conduct a search relating to classified documents kept at the former president’s home.
Trump released a statement Monday evening informing that his estate was “under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents” who arrived “unannounced” in an act he described as “not necessary or appropriate.”
“It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections,” wrote Trump.

Conservative leaders quickly condemned the raid as a misuse of government power and a clear demonstration of “the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents.”
South Dakota’s Republican Gov. Kristi Noem described the event as “an unprecedented political weaponization of the Justice Department” while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis warned that the U.S. is becoming a “Banana Republic.”

“This single act has sent an unmistakable signal that anyone who holds a dissenting political belief from the leftist regime can have his or her life ruined by the Deep State – forcing them to defend themselves from a faceless FBI attack-arm of the federal government,” LifeSite’s new petition states.
American citizens should not stand for “the complete corruption and weaponization of America’s law enforcement, and especially not the FBI,” the petition continues. “We must stand united, bold, and patriotic – in the name of liberty, the rule of law, and American Greatness.”
