WOMEN HAD ABORTIONS IN RESPONSE TO JOB LOSS THREATS Union officials and legal counsel are coming to the aid of a Washington D.C. medical worker who aborted her child for fear of losing her job. The young woman and other rookies were told by a top official from the fire department’s Emergency Medical Services that they would be fired if they became pregnant or took medical leave.
