A junior doctor in England is reported in the Daily Telegraph as having been denied a job because he was pro-life. Dr. Everett Julyan, a Christian, says he was told abortions were performed and said he did not want to be involved. The 26-year-old, who has decided not to take legal action against North Glasgow Universities Hospital Trust, has called on the National Health Service to stop discriminating against religious beliefs. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/et?ac=002249450737645&rtmo= fqDvlDMs&atmo=99999999&pg=/et/00/10/10/nabor10.html
The National Post reports today that a couple is suing their doctor for malpractice in the death of their child during delivery. Cindy and Stephen Martin allege negligence on the part of their doctor and are seeking $150,000 in damages after the 1996 stillbirth of their full-term fetus. In Canadian law the child has no rights since it was still attached to the mother by her umbilical cord. The couple’s lawyer is arguing that the child has value at least to the extent of that attributable to a part of the woman’s body. https://www.nationalpost.com/home/story.html?f=/stories/20001011/425961.html
