The survey of more than 1,000 teens ages 12-17 also found that nearly six in 10 believe it is unacceptable for high-schoolers to have sex, even if they take precautions against pregnancy and STDs. Sixty-four percent of girls and 53% of boys said high-school age teens should not engage in sexual activity. Many teens are fearful of pregnancy and STDs, with over half citing them as the main reasons they do not have sex. Twenty-six percent pointed to religion, morals and values as the primary reasons teens abstain.
